Recently, through the use of the time lock (OP_CLTV) mechanism, 15% of Fractal Bitcoin’s total supply from the Ecosystem Treasury and 10% of the total supply from Community Grants have been locked into Bitcoin scripts. This ensures that these assets cannot be moved until they reach a specified block height.
More details can be found on the Fractal Treasury page below:
Over the next 10 years, these funds will be unlocked at a rate of 1/10 per year, ensuring that Fractal Bitcoin has a sustainable development path over the next decade.
Explorer Identification
If you open the related addresses and transactions via the UniSat Explorer, you will see the following clear identification:
For example, one of the addresses: bc1pag9pzdsgflt4gdkdh94x95yttjja6p78unygmvla5cf6sg8lxy0sxzmf7d
If you check out the link of the corresponding distribution transaction, you will see how the Ecosystem Treasury is divided into 10 parts and locked into 10 yearly increasing time locks in this transaction.
Transaction Construction
We have open-sourced the scripts used to construct the transactions on GitHub:
https://github.com/fractal-bitcoin/fractal-treasury-locktime-utils
In this repository, you can see how the Ecosystem Treasury and Community Grant transactions were constructed:
- https://github.com/fractal-bitcoin/fractal-treasury-locktime-utils/blob/master/test/community-grant/createLockTx.ts
By running these scripts, you can also see how the addresses storing time-locked funds are populated:
For the long-term development of Fractal Bitcoin, ensuring sustainable fund management and full on-chain transparency are equally important.
